What is CUET PG

CUET PG is the Common University Entrance Test for Postgraduate courses. It is conducted for students who want admission into different PG programmes offered by participating universities across India. With the CUET PG exam, students can apply for courses like MA, MSc, MCom, MBA, LLM, MEd and many other postgraduate programmes.

The exam is conducted in CBT mode. The paper includes objective-type questions, so students have to answer multiple choice questions only. Now many top universities are using CUET PG scores for PG admissions, so this exam has become very important for students who want to continue higher studies after graduation.

CUET PG 2027 Exam Pattern

As per the latest official CUET PG bulletin, the exam pattern includes:

• CBT mode
• 75 questions
• 90 minutes duration
• MCQ format
• medium generally bilingual in English and Hindi except some specific papers

CUET PG Exam Pattern

This gives students a clear idea that speed and accuracy both are important. Since the paper is objective, students often think it will be easy, but negative marking changes the whole mood of the exam a little bit.

CUET PG 2027 Marking Scheme

The latest official marking scheme is:

• +4 marks for every correct answer
• -1 mark for every incorrect answer
• 0 mark for unattempted questions

This means blind guessing is not a smart strategy. Some students mark anything at the last minute and then negative marking quietly ruins the score.

Why CUET PG is Important for PG Admission

CUET PG has become very important for postgraduate courses because many universities now accept CUET PG scores instead of holding separate entrance exams. This helps students a lot because they do not need to prepare for too many different exams for different universities.

With one entrance test, students can apply to multiple universities. This saves time, reduces application effort and also lowers exam pressure. Universities like DU, BHU, JNU, Jamia and many other institutions consider CUET PG scores for admission. So if a student gets a good score, the chances of getting admission in a top university and preferred course become higher. Many students understand this importance late only, but this point matters a lot.
