AFCAT or Air Force Common Aptitude Test is conducted by Indian Air Force twice every year to select eligible candidates for the following posts:

AFCAT (II) Notification 2019

AFCAT (II) Apply Online 2019

AFCAT (II) 2019 Online Application started on 1st June 2019. The Online Application will end on 30th June 2019. If on verification at any time before or after the written examination or AFSB Testing, it is found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature will be cancelled by the IAF

AFCAT Application Fee


To successfully submit the Online Application form for AFCAT (II) 2019 Exam, a candidate must pay the required Application Fee. AFCAT Application Fee for candidates belonging to GENERAL/OBC category is Rs. 250/-. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/Female Category are exempted from paying any application fee for the AFCAT (II) 2019 exam.

Types of Commission


There are two types of Commission offered through AFCAT Exam by Indian Air Force. Let's have a look at the same.

Permanent Commission (PC) for Men: Candidates joining as PC officers would continue to serve till the age of superannuation in their respective branches as per their rank.

Short Service Commission (SC) for Men & Women: The engagement period for Flying Branch (Men and Women) SSC Officers is fourteen years from the date of Commissioning (Non extendable). The initial tenure for Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) SSC Officers would be for a period of ten years. An extension of four years may be granted subject to service requirements, availability of vacancies, willingness, suitability and merit.

AFCAT (II) Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for AFCAT (II) Exam 2019, a candidate must be be:

Age Criteria


Flying Branch through AFCAT and NCC Special Entry: A candidate must be 20 to 24 years as on 02 July 2020 i.e. born between 02 July 1996 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive). Upper age limit for candidates holding valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable upto 26 years i.e. born between 02 July 1994 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive).

Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: A candidate must be 20 to 26 years as on 02 July 2020 i.e. born between 02 July 1994 to 01 July 2000 (both dates inclusive)

Marital Status of Candidate


Candidates below 25 years of age must be unmarried at the time of commencement of course. Widows/Widowers and divorcees (with or without encumbrances) below 25 years of age are also not eligible. Married candidates above 25 years of age are eligible to apply but during training period they will neither be provided married accommodation nor can they live out with family.

(a) Graduation with minimum three years degree course in any discipline from a recognized University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.

(b) BE/B Tech degree (Four years course) from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
OR
(c) Cleared Section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised University with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent.
Ground Duty (Technical) Branch Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics) {AE (L)} 4 year degree course with minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level
Must have cleared Sections A and B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India or Graduate membership examination of the Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers with 60% marks
Aeronautical Engineer (Mechanical) {AE (M)} minimum of 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level and a minimum of four years degree graduation/integrated post-graduation qualification in Engineering/Technology from recognised University
Cleared Sections A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India by actual studies with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent
Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches Administration & Logistics Minimum 3 years Graduate degree with 60% and above marks from recognised university
Cleared section A & B examination of Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognised university with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent

AFCAT (II) 2019 will be conducted in two stages:

To be accepted for the posts offered by Indian Air Force through AFCAT 2 Exam 2019, one must score minimum qualifying marks both in written test and AFSB test as prescribed by the IAF. Candidates will be selected on the marks secured by them in both AFCAT & EKT.
